# Manage your team

Invite colleagues and assign their firm roles.

## Invite a colleague

1. Open **Settings → Team**.
2. Select **Invite Team Member**.
3. Enter the colleague's email and choose the appropriate firm role.
4. Check the details, then select **Send Invite**. This contacts that person by email.
5. Check the invitation or team list for the result.

If you can see the list but cannot invite someone, your role may allow viewing Team without allowing invitations.

## Invitation fields

| Field | What to enter |
| --- | --- |
| **First Name** / **Last Name** | The colleague's name. |
| **Email** | The address that receives the invitation. Check it before **Send Invite**. |
| **Phone** | An optional phone number. |
| **Role** | The access this colleague will have in your firm. Check the role's client scope and grants before inviting. |

Sending an invitation does not assign the colleague responsibility for particular clients. Make those assignments on the client or Entity separately.

## Assign a role

From Team, open the colleague's available role control, choose the appropriate firm role, and save the change.

A role change affects what that colleague can do. Only a Partner can assign Partner or change a Partner's role. The firm must keep at least one active Partner.

## Configure the roles

A Partner manages role definitions in the separate **Settings → Roles** section. Follow [Set up Roles](https://ziffa.io/user-guide/settings/roles) to choose what each role can see and change, or follow [Create a Senior role](https://ziffa.io/user-guide/create-a-senior-role) for a step-by-step example.

## Check client scope and commercial access

Review the role's [client scope and commercial access](https://ziffa.io/user-guide/settings/roles#check-client-scope-and-commercial-access) before assigning it. A colleague's role affects which clients and financial information they can access.
