Expiry attention is separate from Pending Review. A document can have completed processing and still need a renewal or a corrected expiry date.

## Which documents appear?

Expiry tracking applies to document requirements configured as having an expiry, such as an identity-document requirement. It is not a list of every file containing a date.

Within the documents you can access, the workspace separates:

| Group | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **Expired** | The saved expiry date is before today. |
| **Expiring within 90 days** | The date is today or within the next 90 days. |
| **Missing/invalid date** | There is no usable saved expiry date, including an invalid date. |

A document expiring today is in Expiring, not Expired. A later date lies outside the current upcoming window. The date is read from the document's expiry value, so an extraction error can put it in the wrong group.

## What renewal work changes

**Create task** in the workspace creates follow-up work linked to the source document. The task can record a replacement request or an investigation into a missing date. Its due date, assignee, and budget are choices you make in the task form.

Once saved, **Open task** lets you continue that work without creating another task. This follow-up does not replace the document, correct its expiry date, send a client request, or clear it from expiry attention.

Documents that already have a linked renewal Job are excluded from the dated groups. A missing or invalid date can still need attention. The workspace's general follow-up task does not create that renewal link.

## What dismissal changes

Dismissal removes that document from expiry attention. It does not delete it, extend its validity, change its date, or close related work. There is no undo-dismiss control in the current interface.
